Protecting your Natural Log™ data

•   After you import the NL-DOS data into NL8 Windows, each system can be run completely separate from the other. This means you can run the 2 systems side-by-side, entering data into both systems, and comparing the results. It is highly recommended you do this through at least one billing cycle.

  The data in Natural Log DOS was contained in multiple small data files. The data in Natural Log Windows is contained in 1 single large Microsoft Access™ database file. If it becomes corrupted, all your data can be lost. The only thing you can do to protect yourself is frequent data backups to multiple media stored at multiple locations.
•   We recommend that you save Data-Backups to several different media and locations on a rotating basis in case the backup media goes bad or there is a fire or natural disaster. The only protection you have is to do frequent Data-Backups, daily if possible! We cannot recover lost data for you so please do not ask.

•   Natural Log 8 will attempt to do an internal data backup daily. We highly recommend you allow it to be done every morning upon first NL8 startup.

•   Due to the large size of the database file, we recommend you use USB-Drives, Zip-Discs, re-writeable CD's, or tape backup devices. NL8 does not support backups to floppy discs.
